Eleven Sports and Canal+ have acquired the TV rights to broadcast LaLiga Santander on Polish territory for the coming three seasons (2018-2021). The new contract will be effective from August this year.
Eleven Sports and Canal+ will be able to show five matches exclusively live in each league round. Broadcasters will share matches using alternate first choice rights. The exceptions are the famous El Clásico, the confrontation of world football powers FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, which will be broadcast simultaneously on both channels.
We aim to take the LaLiga experience we offer viewers beyond the matchday 90 minutes; to get them as close to the game as possible through world-class studio and stadium-based programming, player interviews and magazines, as well as off-air campaigns – such as the ongoing #LaLigaSantanderExperience competition. We are delighted to have acquired the rights to LaLiga for the next three seasons and can assure you that we will be covering one of the best European leagues at the highest level
– says Krzysztof Świergiel, managing director of Eleven Sports in Poland.
We are very happy that Spanish league matches will again be broadcast on Canal+. This is very good news for all fans in Poland. LaLiga Santander is quintessential football – famous clubs, exceptional players, extraordinary rivalry and great passion. Combined with LOTTO Ekstraklasa, Premier League, selected Bundesliga matches, NBA, PGE Ekstraliga – the world’s best speedway league, Speedway Grand Prix series, PGNiG Superleague handball competition, EHF Champions League, Cavaliade, Six Nations Cup, PGA golf and, from next season, CEV Volleyball Champions League, this makes our sports offer unique in the market in terms of quality and diversity
– says Manuel Rougeron, CEO of nc+.
As part of the acquired rights, Eleven Sports and Canal+ can also show other programmes related to LaLiga Santander and abbreviated versions of all matches.
